Today’s legal technology has given lawyers the ability to work from anywhere. They can gain a competitive edge and improve legal services to their clients without being in the room. Technology and remote work also have opened the doors to hiring and training staff members who are not “in our backyards.”  In this presentation, Liz McCausland, attorney and legal tech consultant, will explore opportunities for today’s lawyers to deliver service and value to their practice, clients, and cases while working remotely. YLD Calls for More Volunteers to Staff Its Hurricane Ian Disaster Legal Services Hotline

The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division’s Disaster Legal Services Hotline is in need of volunteers to answer legal questions for hurricane victims on a pro-bono basis, in conjunction with the ABA’s Young Lawyers Section and FEMA.

Pro bono attorneys will listen to the concerns of victims and discuss the recovery options available through FEMA and other organizations. The hotline allows low-income residents to ask legal questions through a dedicated voicemail system placed on the YLD’s 1-800 hotline or at FEMA centers. The messages are then triaged and sent to an available volunteer lawyer to respond. Read The Florida Bar News article here.

SSF Section Executive Council Welcomes Florida Bar President Gary Lesser, Representatives from TitleTap and ElderCounsel

The section’s Executive Council recently met at the Epicurean Hotel in Tampa and enjoyed presentations by President Lesser and sponsor representatives Robin Cardella of TitleTap and Erin Dupuis of ElderCounsel, LLC.

President Lesser filled us in on his ambitious agenda for this Bar year, including a new mentoring initiative with its own app. Robin discussed the importance of a robust website and optimization and offered some pointers on making websites more user-friendly. Erin filled us in on ElderCounsel’s offerings, including its cloud-based ElderDocs document library and a 1,500-member online community.

Council members networked with local attorneys and judges during the happy hour immediately following the meeting, and enjoyed a wonderful dinner and the rooftop bar at Steelbach. Thank you to everyone who joined us in Tampa.

TitleTap team members have real-world experience in two or more of the following areas so we can serve you better:  Title Insurance, Real Estate, Working with Law Professionals, IT, Web Design, and Marketing.

We are also super cost-effective; what would cost $5K and up at those same marketing agencies start at under $1k. That’s because we’ve done all the heavy lifting on the front end and only help organizations involved with real estate, title, and legal industries.

TitleTap is a done-for-you service that gives you everything you need to dominate your local market. Request a demo and give us a try with our Risk-Free 60-Day Guarantee.

Get Serious About Business Development and Start Taking Action
(Even If It’s Imperfect)

Most lawyers are meticulous, detail-oriented and analytical. Their “Type A” perfectionism serves them well in the practice of law, but it’s often a hindrance when it comes to business development.

While the consequences of being imperfect in your legal work product can be harsh, “imperfections” is something you have to embrace to market and build your practice. You must take risks, go out on limbs, and take action without perfect knowledge of the outcome. Here’s what you need to know.
