Coy Leads Hillsborough State Attorney’s Conviction Review Unit

In case you missed it, please join us in congratulating Solo & Small Firm Section Secretary Theresa Jean-Pierre Coy, the new supervising attorney for the Hillsborough State Attorney’s Office Conviction Review Unit. State Attorney Andrew Warren founded the unit in November 2018 to identify, remedy, and prevent wrongful convictions.

Theresa is an experienced civil attorney, private criminal defense attorney, assistant public defender and adjunct professor at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport and Cooley Law School in Riverview. She is a longtime leader in Tampa Bay’s legal community and recipient of multiple awards for professional and community service.

In addition to serving as a Solo & Small Firm Section Executive Council member and officer, Theresa also co-chaired the section’s 2020 Solo and Small Firm Conference. Best wishes to Theresa on her new endeavor!
